Why This Program

A Leading Program in Technical Japanese

The University of Wisconsin-Madison has been a leader in technical Japanese for nearly 20 years. On-campus instruction for undergraduates and graduate students began in 1982 and an outreach program for professionals in industry and government commenced in 1990. The aggressive use of distance education technology has been a hallmark of the Technical Japanese Program at the university for more than a decade.

In 1995 the Technical Japanese Program received the Distinguished Credit program Award from the Association for Continuing Higher Education in recognition of the high degree of interaction and effectiveness of instruction in these courses. Professor Davis has been named an Outstanding Instructor by the National Technological University (NTU) nine times since 1991.
